This role will support the Banfield Pet Hospital locations in the New York/New Jersey area. Applicants must live within 30 minutes of Carlstadt, NJ to be considered. Ensure hospital facilities in their region are maintained in good condition and working order by identifying, managing, and performing facility and medical equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities include painting and cove base installation, cabinetry and laminate repairs, drywall and ceiling repairs, basic plumbing and electrical repairs, lighting maintenance and repairs, flooring maintenance and repairs, managing in-house maintenance and repair work orders, scheduling work, communicating timelines, managing ceramic tile floor care regional maintenance program, sourcing and managing painting contractors, performing medical equipment preventive maintenance, inspecting and reporting facility damages and repairs, providing communication of repairs and projects to managers and field leaders, purchasing and keeping inventory of maintenance materials, coordinating travel arrangements within guidelines and budget, and other assigned duties. Special working conditions include some travel, residential requirement to live in the assigned market, clean driving record, ability to work at a computer for long periods, ability to work more than 40 hours per week as needed, mental processes for reasoning and language proficiency, physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds, good hand-eye coordination, and working in an environment where pets are present. Experience and education requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Construction or Facilities Management preferred or equivalent experience, three years of construction and/or maintenance experience required, understanding of construction terms, blueprints, troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, casework, and general building construction required, and working knowledge of building construction power tools and various repair and installation tasks preferred.
