POSITION DESCRIPTION

FTV’s events manager will build and execute a strategic events program that enhances the firm’s reputation, strengthens key relationships, builds targeted networks and supports firm-wide business objectives. Collaborating closely with FTV stakeholders – including the investment team, investor relations, business development, FTV Propel and talent – this role will oversee both external and internal events, ensuring they are high-impact, well-coordinated and aligned with FTV’s brand. The event manager will lead planning and execution for FTV’s flagship events – our Annual Partner Conference and Spring Strategic Advisory Board and Fund Governance Committee Meeting, as well as all other FTV events in the U.S. and Europe, ranging from summits with operational leaders in the FTV portfolio and highly curated dinners to thematic happy hours, sponsored booths and ancillary programs at industry conferences and team offsites.

The person in this role is sharp, proactive and professional with a passion for customer service and crafting memorable experiences for FTV’s key stakeholders that drive lasting connections and strong affinity to the FTV team and brand. Exceptional organizational skills, a strong work ethic, ability to multi-task and extreme attention to detail are paramount.

This position will report to the Principal, Marketing and Communications and be based in San Francisco.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Event strategy, planning and execution : Develop and manage FTV’s event strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and that all events are delivered within budget and on time.
  • Project management and operational oversight : Manage all logistics, timelines, team roles and responsibilities, budgets, event planners (where applicable) and vendors, contracts and internal coordination to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Attendee and CRM management : Oversee guest lists, RSVP tracking, and event CRM tools to optimize outreach and engagement. Engage with internal stakeholders to drive attendance. Ensure excellent customer service and a high-touch experience for key stakeholders.
  • Event marketing and communications : Work with Marketing to create event communications, landing pages, branded materials and post-event content. Maintain consistency in brand expression and attendee experience.
  • Agenda and content development : Collaborate with internal teams to shape event agendas, support speaker preparation and develop presentation materials.
  • On-site staffing : Provide on-site event management, including coordinating staff, managing vendors, and handling any issues that arise
  • Reporting and feedback : Own event measurement and reporting, post-event analysis, budget analysis, participant feedback and incorporating lessons learned into future events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning or management with experience or interest in PE/VC/tech
  • Proven track record of leading high-quality branded experiences for audiences of all sizes with a focus on unique, high-touch experiences for executives preferred
  • Track record of executing a variety of least 15 events annually
  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines
  • Experience managing external event agencies and vendors (e.g., rentals, AV, design, catering, etc.) and creating event briefs and RFPs
  • Experience negotiating and managing budgets and tracking expenses effectively
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to handling challenges
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-centric approach
  • Ability to successfully collaborate in cross-functional team
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial spirit and able to think independently, providing creative ideas and solutions
  • Willingness and desire to conduct regular business travel
  • Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Cvent and DealCloud (or similar applications)
