New Edge Associates is collaborating with a reputable banking partner that is currently hiring a detail-oriented and customer-focused Commercial Lender in Miami, FL.

The Commercial Lender will bring their own established book of business. You will work with a broad range of clients, focusing on Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to drive business growth and originate commercial loans in the range of $1 million to $10 million.
• Utilize an established book of business to generate leads and attract new clients for the bank’s commercial lending portfolio.
• Underwrite, structure, and negotiate CRE and C&I loans, ensuring they meet both client needs and company risk management standards.
• Conduct thorough analysis of borrower financials, credit history, and business operations to assess loan eligibility and risk.
• Prepare and present loan proposals to senior management for approval, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of commercial loans, ensuring timely payments and identifying potential issues that may impact the client or the bank.
• Provide high-level customer service to clients by offering expert guidance and tailored financial solutions.
• Work closely with internal teams, including credit analysts and underwriters, to ensure efficient loan processing and timely approvals.
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitive lending environments to stay ahead of market changes and identify opportunities for new business.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on loan activity and portfolio performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commercial Lender with a strong book of business and the ability to bring in and manage clients.
• Expertise in both Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending.
• In-depth knowledge of underwriting, loan structuring, and risk management processes.
• Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to assess creditworthiness and business viability.
• Lending limit experience of up to $20 million and comfort with loan sizes ranging from $1 million to $10 million.
• Ability to develop and maintain client relationships and provide customized solutions to meet their financial needs.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is required. An MBA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial lending experience, with a demonstrated ability to successfully manage a book of business.
